Continuity Program Development
- We advise your management team how to design an effective, efficient global continuity program, to include all aspects of the business continuity life-cycle, internal governance, and awareness and training.
Continuity Risk Assessment
- We focus on the four common categories of continuity-related risks: Business Process, Environmental, Information Technology, and Man-Made. We measure these risks and make recommendations on specific controls your organization can implement to mitigate the likelihood and severity of each specific continuity-related risk.
Continuity Impact Analysis
- We measure the loss of specific business functions within the organization (to categorize their level of criticality), determine the acceptable recovery objectives associated with each business function (timeframe, data loss potential, and capacity at time of recovery), enabling the identifying process for specific recovery strategies associated with each business function.
Continuity Strategies – Develop, Design, & Implement
- We recommend continuity strategies that are driven from the business unit level and will either be process or IT specific. Our objective recommendations will ensure that the recovery objectives agreed upon in the impact analysis will be met or exceeded.
Continuity Plan Documentation
- We focus on the development and documentation of business unit and IT continuity plans that are essential to execute successful recovery processes and procedures.
Continuity Program Validation
- We outline testing in such a way that each component of the program is executed in an appropriate testing environment, based on the maturity of the program, to allow for proper validation of its effectiveness. Lessons learned will be documented and documentation updated to fill any gaps that exist.
Continuity Plan Maintenance
- We outline an operational maintenance schedule so that plans don’t quickly become outdated and the significant investments aren’t lost. This has a direct impact on the organization’s ability to recover. Each component of the continuity process is assigned update classifications that line up with Senior Management’s goals for program maturity.
Continuity Awareness & Training
- We build upon a successful continuity program capability and incorporate the development and delivery of enterprise training content based on the processes that comprise the program.
Continuity Program Assessment
- It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that business continuity is a one-time event. Your organization has invested significantly in the development of the continuity plans and strategies. GCA wants to assist you in protecting this investment by measuring the continuity program and bringing recommendations to you regarding ways to mature the program. We utilize a proprietary set of Capability Maturity Models (CMMs) to measure your program, as well as our experience, to bring recommendations on maturing your continuity program.
